Slovakia and High Tatras Scenic Tour from Zakopane

Spend a full day travelling around the Tatras and see the mountains from the Slovak side on a scenic loop from Zakopane.

Starting with pickup from Zakopane or the surrounding area, the route takes you across the Polish-Slovak border to Orava Castle, then continues through Slovakia to Štrbské Pleso in the High Tatras and finishes with the Treetop Walk in Ždiar before returning to Poland.

Start with around an hour at Orava Castle, one of northern Slovakia’s best-known landmarks. From there, continue south towards Štrbské Pleso, where you will have around 2.5 hours to walk around the mountain lake, have lunch and enjoy the High Tatra scenery. When operating, rowing boats can also be rented directly at the lake.

The final stop is Ždiar, beneath the Belianske Tatras. Take the gondola up to the Treetop Walk and spend around 1.5 hours exploring the elevated walkway and viewpoints before starting the return journey to Zakopane.

The route forms a full loop around the Tatras, combining a historic castle, mountain lakes, High Tatra scenery and one of the best-known attractions in Ždiar in a single day.
